With Halloween coming up, we wanted to feature some appropriately themed mods for the month.

There are plenty to choose from – from monsters to costumes to suitably moody locations. Included below is just a smattering of what the community has to offer, but they’re all mods we enjoy. Short descriptions are included, and if you want to know more, links are provided to their full profile pages on Skyrim Mods and Fallout 4 Mods.

As always, please let us know in the comments below what you’d like to see featured, or on the Skyrim and Fallout 4 forums.

Skyrim Special Edition

Crypt of the Old Guard by ToggleAI
Skyrim mod for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

At first this appears to be a small crypt, but pull the fixture on the far wall and you’ll unlock an exquisitely decorated home tailored for vampires. There are a number of great features here, and it’s all wonderfully detailed.

Gio the Friendly Talking Draugr by Jimbobaway
Skyrim mod for Xbox One and PlayStation 4

What better way to celebrate Halloween than by adventuring with the shriveled husk of an ancient Nord warrior? Gio is no simple novelty; with his knowledge of The Voice he can more than hold his own in a fight.

Apophysis Dragon Priest Masks by Pondcypress and Carnage2K4
Skyrim mod for PC and Xbox One

This mod adds a new, ornate appearance for every dragon priest mask. In addition to each looking more unique, they really stand out nicely.

HUNT: Troll Skulls by Sp0ckrates
Skyrim mod for PC and Xbox One

Whether you’re looking for decorations, or some imposing new equipment, this mod gives you a reason to hike into the mountains and clear out a troll lair or two.

Beast Skeletons by Prometheus
Skyrim mod for PC and Xbox One

If you’re looking for more variation in the Skyrim beastiary, or a simple immersion mod, Prometheus has added an assortment of excellent skeletons for Argonians, Khajiit, and Orcs!

Afflicted Vomit Shout by Katarn343
Skyrim mod for Xbox One

This fun, if disgusting, addition to Skyrim adds a new shout to the game, and also serves as a reminder to avoid that tenth sweet roll during your holiday celebrations.

Fallout 4

Unified Clothing Overhaul by ANDREWCX
Fallout 4 mod for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

If you’ve ever wanted to dress the Sole Survivor up as an alien or synth for Halloween, UCO makes this possible. Far beyond a collection of costumes, it greatly expands customization options available to the player. This mod requires AWKCR, another mod we are featuring this month.

Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource by Valdacil and Gambit77
Fallout 4 mod for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

We’ve featured several mods that required AWKCR, and felt the time was right to highlight this on its own. While not specifically Halloween-themed, AWKCR organizes and standardizes much of the equipment in Fallout 4, providing convenience as well as the foundation for other large projects.

The Widow Shotgun by Corvalho1
Fallout 4 mod for PC and Xbox One

This popular shotgun has a nice range of customization options, but stands out for its exquisite design. It’s best enjoyed in action, and there are some great community videos showcasing this.

Plague Doctors of the Commonwealth by Lagrie
Fallout 4 mod for PC and Xbox One

A masquerade costume and brutal new enemy all wrapped into one mod, what’s to complain about! Acquiring your own Plague Doctor suit will take quite a bit of effort, as these fellows don’t go down easily, and their suits aren’t always salvageable.

Ghoul Mask RETURNS by Killshots2
Fallout 4 mod for Xbox One

This hideous mask allows you (and your companion) to be viewed favorably by feral ghouls. It may not be balanced, but it is a lot of fun.

Wildwood Crypt by DarkTodd
Fallout 4 mod for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

It feels appropriate to bookend October’s list with crypts. Wildwood is an interesting mix of cramped winding hallways with an expansive central room. It’s an interesting layout for a settlement, and maintains a nice, strong theme throughout.
